Topic: Voices
—
I have a treasure of voices somewhere inside me though can’t hear them any more. Life started with the most soothing voice…
“Meri pyari beti…”
Then it goes on and two very close to heart voices follow me;
“Ye lo apne first aane ka inaam 5 rupay…”
“Ahista awaaz mein bola karo…”
“Meri beti aaj matriculate ho gai…”
“You should do things in a manner that are distinctly different from the rest…”
“Jao beta, ghar ka khayal kon rakhhe ga…”
“Jitna chaho mein parhaun ga…”
“I am so proud of you, I wish your Ammi was there to see your success…”
“Beta mein chahta hum aap mere paas hi raho waise jo job karna chaho, theek hai…”
“Fikr na karo, mein apki gari theek karwa dun ga…”
“I am fine, I can still hold my cup of tea….”
And… then end of an era, the most beautiful one…
Life goes on. Many more moments are preserved in my mind and heart in shape of voices. These voices have shaped up my life but cannot be heard any more.
As I grow older, more and more voices become a part of me. Whenever I want to listen to them, I just have to move back in the past quietly and there is the treasure of these sweet and most loving voices.
