After a tiring day, Rhea managed to leave her office timely and escape worldly woes for later. She plugged her earphones, as soon as she stepped into her van because she was least interested in chatter her fellows were about to propound. However, she was in for a surprise. The music app started playing songs that transposed her from the present situation into the past moments. The wheel of the van rotated as swift as the cycle of time rotation.

She saw her teenager avatar as a lively person that loved chasing butterflies and enjoyed songs that were high on the note. However, soon the flames of her youth were turned down by inhumane characters. She recalled the friendship that was nothing but a raw thread, the dreams which were nothing but a mere fantasy, and the expectations that possessed a part of her being. She cried and begged before such monsters to release her from the venomous ties consummating her soul.

Nevertheless, it was futile as she felt weak in her knees whenever those toxic associations acquired her attention. Soon, the van stopped and she opened her eyes to witness her house’s gate. “Sometimes past experience keys assist you to retrieve your lost identity,” Rhea thought as she walked towards her house. She smiled as she reached her destination- the freedom door to unlock and start afresh. In the end, she needed no one but herself to break free from the worldly chains of confinement for a better tomorrow.

  1. The people we give most of our time, attention and love mostly end up choosing someone else. No matter how hard we try the smallest things like a song, place or date reminds us about them. The story is well written and it described my situation very well.
