Today’s topic is: The Price Of Jannah

Quran is beautiful in its eloquence. Not only are the words concise and complete in every way, but they capture the true essence of the lesson.

When talking about the beauty of the way quran is laid out, we see that there are certain phrases that are repeated again and again. Allah, being the Teacher of all teachers, knows that to drive home a lesson, the lesson needs to be reiterated to His students (us).

وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ

We see this phrase throughout the Quran. Have we ever stopped to think about its depth?

Allah says, O you who have believed and have done good deeds… which shows that emaan (belief) is 1) always followed by good deeds 2) emaan and good deeds go hand in hand 3) one’s emaan cannot be complete if it is devoid of good deeds.

In Surah Nisaa, ayah 122, Allah says,

“But as for those who believe and do good works We shall bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever. It is a promise from Allah in truth; and who can be more truthful than Allah in utterance?“

This ayat is a proof that in order to attain jannah, one must not only have emaan, but also possess good deeds to his credit on the day of judgement. Stating the qalima is like a vocal expression of our faith; implementing on that emaan day and night, every day is when it gets tough. Following the commandments of Allah, limiting ourselves where Allah’s limit has been defined, and following the deen is a pratical expression of our emaan.

I want to specially mention here a false misconception building among us. We have started thinking that since we all are born in Muslim households, we will be exempt from questioning on the day of judgement. Some believe that our last Prophet, Muhammad (s.a.w.) will come forward with his “shafaat” and we will all be saved from hell fire.

Shytaan has such sharp ways to deceive us!

Every single soul will be tried and questioned on That Day. Depending upon the faith he had in his heart, the good deeds he performed, Allah may choose to show rahmah to us. No one will be able to give shafaat for anyone of The Day other than the shafaat that will be put in their hearts by Allah Himself. (We will cover the shafaat of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in upcoming days with more details.)

Lastly, in good deeds, the fardh (mandatory) deeds take precedence, Allah loves nafli ibaadat, but the priority of the farz ibaadat still weighs more. For example, we see many people who say they cannot offer namaz but are good in sadaqah. Sadaqah is a good thing and is loved by Allah; but He loves namaz more.

On the day of judgement, the first deeds to go on the scale will be our farz ibaadaat, and if we fall short, the nafli ibaadaat will be used to make up for it.

May Allah make us the people of emaan, whose hearts and bodies become the perfect embodiment of the kind of faith that Allah loves. May Allah make it easy for us to follow His Deen. May Allah help us in following all farz ibaadaat and earn His rahmah on the day of judgment.

رمضان سیریز کے چوتھے روز خوش آ مدید۔

آج کا ہمارا موضوع ہے ‘ جنّت کی قیمت۔”

قرآن پاک اپنے مفہوم میں خوشگوار اور خوبصورت ہے۔ معنی کے لحاظ سے نا صرف الفاظ جامع اور خوبصورت ہیں بلکہ اپنے اندر مکمل تفسیر لیے ہوئے ہیں۔

اگر یہ بات کریں کہ قرآن کو کس قدر خوبصورتی سے مرتّب کیا گیا ہے، تو ہم دیکھیں گے کہ کچھ مرکّب الفاظ ایسے ہیں کہ جنہیں جا بجا دُہرایا گیا ہے۔ اللہ، جو تمام علوم کا عالم ہے، جانتا ہے کہ سبق کو دل میں اتارنے کے لیے کس طرح شاگردوں کو دوبارہ زور دے کر پڑھانے کہ ضرورت ہے۔

وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ

ہم یہ جملہ قرآن میں کئی بار پڑھتے ہیں کیا ہم نے کبھی اس پو رُک کر اس کی گہرائی کا اندازہ لگانے کی کوشش کی ہے؟

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک کام کرتے رہے ان کو ہم بہشتوں میں داخل کریں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہیں۔ ابدالآباد ان میں رہیں گے۔ یہ خدا کا سچا وعدہ ہے۔ اور خدا سے زیادہ بات کا سچا کون ہوسکتا ہے ﴿۱۲۲﴾

اس آیت سے یہ بات واضح ہوتی ہے کہ جنّت میں جانے کے لیے ایمان کے ساتھ ساتھ نیک اعمال کی بھی ضرورت ہوگی۔ جنہیں قیامت کے دن تولا جائے گا۔ کلمہ پڑھنا ہمارے ایمان کا زبانی اعلان ہے۔ مگر اس ایمان کے تقاضوں کو عملی زندگی میں رائج کرنا اصل امتحان ہے۔ خدا کے احکام کی تعمیل کرنا، اُس کی مقرّر کدہ حدود تک خود کو محدود رکھنا، اور دین پر عملی طور پر عمل کرنا ہمارے ایمان کا عملی اظہار ہے۔

میں یہاں خاص طور سے ایک غلط سوچ کی نشاندہی کرنا چاہتی ہوں جو ہمارے ذہنوں میں ہے۔ ہم یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ کیوں کہ ہم مسلم گھرانے میں پیدا ہوئے ہیں، جنّت ہم پر واجب ہوگئی ہے۔ اور قیامت کے دن ہر طرح کے حساب سے بری ہیں۔ کچھ یہ مانتے ہیں کہ ہمارے پیارے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم قیامت کے دن ہماری ‘شفاعت’ کے لیے آئیں گے اور ہمیں دوزخ کی آگ سے بچائیں گے۔

یہ سب شیطان کے حیلے ہیں۔

ہر ذی نفس جوابدہ ہے اپنے اعمال اور اُسے اس امتحان سے گزرنا ہوگا۔

دل میں موجود ایمان اور اچھے اعمال کی بناء پر خدا یہ فیصلہ کرے گا کہ رحمت کے قابل کون ہے۔ کوئی اُس دن کسی کی شفاعت نہیں کر سکے گا۔ سوائے اس شفاعت کے جس سے خدا نے پہلے ہی ہمارے دلوں کو منوّر کیا ہوا ہے۔ (رسول اللہ کی شفاعت کے عنوان پر ہم آنے والے د نوں میں تفصیلاً بات کریں گے)۔

آخر میں اچھے اعمال میں فرائض کی سبقت ہوگی۔ خدا نفل عبادت کو پسند کرتا ہے مگر فرائض کی فضیلت باقی تمام عبادات سے زیادہ ہے۔ مثال کے طور پر ہم بہت سے لوگوں کو دیکھتے ہیں جو کہتے ہیں کہ وہ نماز نہیں پڑھتے مگر صدقہ بہت دیتے ہیں۔ صدقہ بہترین عمل ہے اور خدا کو بے شک پسند ہے مگر پھر بھی نماز سے بڑھ کر نہیں۔

قیامت کے دن پہلے ہمارے فریضت کے اعمال کو میزان میں تولا جائے گا اور اگر وہ کم پڑ گئے تو نوافل کو شامل کرکے میزان کو برابر کیا جائے گا۔

خدا ہمیں ایمان والوں میں سے کرے، جن کے دل اور جسم خدا کی محبت اور ایمان کی بہترین مثال ہیں۔ خدا ہمارے لیے اپنے دین کی پیروی آسان کرے۔ ہمیں فرائض ادا کرنے کی توفیق عطا کرے اور قیامت کے روز ہم پر رحمت فرمائے۔
