We are narrating the story of Hazrat Maryam (e.s.) as told in Surah Aal-Imran. This is Part 6.

Disclaimer: We will only talk about what Quran tells us, and the scope is Surah Aal-imran. There are multiple places where Hazrat Maryam (e.s.) is mentioned, yet we will stick to this particular Surah.

We are continuing from part 5 of The Story Of Maryam.

And so, Imran and Hanna’s daughter, Maryam (e.s.) gave birth to one of the most famous messengers of all time, Eesa Masih. Eesa (e.s.) was born without a father to a noble, pious and chaste woman, Hazrat Maryam, by the word (“Kun!”) of Allah.

Hazrat Eesa (e.s.) grew up to be a very remarkable and intelligent boy. Just like his mother, he was brought up in Solomon’s Temple.

Allah says in the Quran that it was He who taught Hazrat Eesa (e.s.) the Book and Hikmah (wisdom). Some scholars interpret book and hikmah as follows:

a) the Book is Torah

b) Hikmah is Bible (Injeel)

This is because as opposed to miconceptions by christians today, Eesa Ibn e Maryam (e.s) was sent as a prophet to only the Jews. The Jews of that time committed grave crimes against their religion. One of them was to change and twist the commandments of their book according to their ease and liking. And so, to correct them, Allah sent Eesa (e.s.). For this purpose, Allah gave knowledge to him and taught him right from wrong.

When the teachers at Solomon’s Temple would teach Hazrat Eesa something, they were astonished to see that the boy already knew everything about the topic. Also, Hazrat Eesa’s memory was very sharp. He knew all the Torah by heart; he would correct even his teachers when they made a mistake and that annoyed them.

Allah says in the Quran,

“And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Injeel. And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], ‘Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.” (Surah Al-Imran, ayat 48,49)

As Hazrat Eesa (e.s.) grew older, so did Allah increase him in knowledge. At the age of 30, Allah bestowed prophethood on him and so, he began correcting the Jews and preaching people the true commands of Allah as were originally in the Torah. It should be mentioned here that the Torah, book of Jews, contains the shariah of Allah, and Injeel (Bible) was sent down to elaborate this shariah and its hikmat (wisdom). The Bible contained no new laws from Allah.

Allah also gifted Hazrat Eesa (e.s.) with miracles, which he could perform by the Will Of Allah, whenever Allah willed them to be. Some of these miracles are mentioned in the ayah mentioned above.

Hazrat Eesa (e.s.) started gaining immense popularity among the masses because of his benevolent nature, his truthfulness and above all the miracles he could perform.

On a side note, I want you all to appreciate the way Allah chooses “moajazaat” for his messengers. Hazrat Musa’s age was that of famous magicians, so he was given his “asa’a” that could change shape and split oceans on Allah’s command. Hazrat Muhammad’s age was that of poetry and excellence of language, hence he was gifted with the powerful Quran whose tone and deliverance stuns everyone to this day and will continue to do so till Qayamat.

As for Hazrat Eesa (e.s.), his age was that of doctors and medicine, and so, his miracles revolves around healing people. It is said that he used to heal thousands of patients in a single day.

What happened next in Hazrat Eesa’s story?

How does this powerful story which starts with the piety of Hanna and Maryam (e.s.) comes to a climax in Eesa’s (e.s.) life? We will see it in tomorrow’s part.

• He could blow life into a bird of clay, so that it would become a living bird, by the Will of Allah

• He could cure those who were blind by birth, by the Will of Allah

• He could bring people back to life from the dead, by the Will of Allah

• He could, without being told anything, tell what a person has eaten at home, by the Will of Allah

• Allah gives “moajazaat” (miracles) to His prophets that are relevant to their time and the age in which they lived.

رمضان سیریز کے چودھویں دن خوش آمدید.

ہم حضرت مریم کی کہانی کا ذکر کررہے ہیں کہ جسے سورہ آل عمران میں بیان کیا گیا ہے. یہ کہانی کا دوسرا حصہ ہے.

انتباہ: ہم صرف قرآن میں موجود بیان پر بات کریں گے، خاص طور پر سورہ آل عمران سے منسوب. گو کہ مریمؑ کا تذکرہ متعدد جگہ کیا گیا ہے، مگر ہم اس مخصوص سورہ کے حوالے سے بیان کریں گے.

ہم پانچویں حصّے سے کہانی کو جوڑیں گے۔

لہذا عمران اور حنہ کی بیٹی مریم نے عیسی مسیح کو جنم دیا. بنا کسی مرد کے ہاتھ لگائے صرف خدا کے لفظ “کن” کی بدولت.

حضرت عیسی ا یک ذہین لڑکے تھے.ماں کی طرح ان کی تربیت بھی سلیمانی مندر میں ہوئی.

خدا قرآن میں فرماتا ہے کہ یہ وہ تھا جس نے عیسی کو کتاب اور حکمت سکھائی. کچھ علماء کتاب اور حکمت کو ایسے بیان کرتے ہیں:

1. توریت کی کتاب.

2. حکمت انجیل تھی.

اسی غلط فہمی کی بنیاد پر عیسائی اب تک یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ نبی کو صرف مجوسیوں کے لیے بھیجا گیا تھا. اس وقت کے مجوسیوں نے دین کے خلاف سخت قسم کے گناہ کیے تھے.ان میں سے ایک یہ کہ انہوں نے کتب میں اپنی مرضی سے ردوبدل کی تھی. اور انہیں درست کرنے کے لیے خدا نے عیسی کو بھیجا تھا. اسی مقصد کے لیے خدا نے انہیں علم دیا اور صحیح غلط کا مطلب سمجھایا.

جب اساتذہ سلیمانی مندر میں عیسی کو کچھ سکھاتے تو انہیں حیرت ہوتی کہ اس بچے کو پہلے ہی سب کچھ معلوم ہوتا. مزید یہ کہ ان کی یادداشت بہت تیز تھی۔ انہیں توریت زبانی یاد تھی۔ اگر اساتذہ بھی کوئی غلطی کرتے تو وہ انہیں درست کرے اور یہ بات سب کو کھٹکنے لگی۔

اللہ قرآن میں فرماتا ہے:

اور وہ انہیں لکھنا (پڑھنا) اور دانائی اور تورات اور انجیل سکھائے گا ﴿۴۸﴾ اور (عیسیٰ) بنی اسرائیل کی طرف پیغمبر (ہو کر جائیں گے اور کہیں گے) کہ میں تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے نشانی لے کر آیا ہوں وہ یہ کہ تمہارے سامنے مٹی کی مورت بشکل پرند بناتا ہوں پھر اس میں پھونک مارتا ہوں تو وہ خدا کے حکم سے (سچ مچ) جانور ہو جاتا ہے اور اندھے اور ابرص کو تندرست کر دیتا ہوں اور خدا کے حکم سے مردے میں جان ڈال دیتا ہوں اور جو کچھ تم کھا کر آتے ہو اور جو اپنے گھروں میں جمع کر رکھتے ہو سب تم کو بتا دیتا ہوں اگر تم صاحب ایمان ہو تو ان باتوں میں تمہارے لیے (قدرت خدا کی) نشانی ہے ﴿۴۹﴾

عمر کے ساتھ خدا نے حضرت عیسیٰ کے علم میں مزید اضافہ کیا۔ ۳۰ سال کی عمر میں اللہ نے انہیں نبوّت سے نوازا تاکہ وہ مجوسیوں اور لوگوں کی اصلاح کرسکیں توریت کی صحیح تعلیمات کے مطابق۔ یہاں یہ بات قابلِ ذکر ہے کہ توریت جو کہ مجوسیوں کی کتاب ہے اس میں خدا نے شریعت کے احکامات نازل کیے تھے، جبکہ انجیل کو ان احکامات کی تصحیح اور وضاحت کے لیے بھیجا گیا۔ زبور میں خدا کا نازل کیا کوئی نیا حکم نہیں ہے۔

خدا نے حضرت عیسیٰ کو معجزات سے بھی نوازا، جو وہ خدا کے حکم سے کرتے ، جب بھی خدا کی مرضی ہوتی۔ ان میں سے کچھ کا ذکر ا وپر دی گئی آیت میں ہے۔

حضرت عیسیٰ جلد ہی لوگوں کے درمیان اپنی سچائی اخلاق اور معجزات کے سبب مشہور ہوگئے۔

یہاں ساتھ میں میں خدا کے اس انداز کی حمد کرنا چاہوں گی کہ کیسے وہ اپنے پیغمبروں کو معجزات سے نوازتا ہے۔ حضرت موسیٰ کا دور جادوگروں کا تھا اس لیے ایسی چھڑی دی جو اژدھا بن جاتی تھی اور خدا کے حکم سے سمندر کے ٹکڑے کر دیتی تھی۔ محمد ﷺ کا دور شاعروں کا تھا تو آپ کو قرآن جیسے کلام سے نوازا جو کہ قیامت تک کہ لیے ایک عظیم تحفہ ہے۔

حضرت عیسیٰ کا دور طبیب اور عالموں لا تھا تو آپ کو لوگوں کی مسیحائی کے معجزے سے نوازا۔ یہ کہا جاتا ہے کہ وہ ایک دن میں ہزاروں لوگوں کی مسیحائی کرتے تھے۔

حضرت عیسیٰ کی کہانی میں پھر کیا ہوا؟

کیسے یہ کہانی جو حضرت مریم ا ور حنّہ کے تقویٰ سے شروع ہوئی حضرت عیسیٰ کی زندگی میں یکسر بدل جاتی ہے۔ ہم یہ کل کے حصّے میں پڑھیں گے۔

آج کے دن ہم نے سیکھا:

· وہ خدا کے حکم سے پتھر سے بنی چڑیا میں جان ڈال دیتے تھے۔

· وہ پیدائشی نابینا کو خدا کے حکم سے دیکھتا کردیتے تھے۔

· وہ خدا کے حکم سے مردہ کو زندہ کر دیتے تھے۔

· وہ بنا کسی سوال کے یہ بتا سکتے تھے کہ کس نے گھر میں کیا کھایا ہے۔

· اللہ اپنے نبیوں کو ان کے دور اور ضرورت سے مطابقت رکھنے والے معجزات سے نوازتا ہے۔
