Welcome to Day 5 of the Ramzan Series 2020. We are in the Hijri 1441 of the Islamic calendar.

Rahman and Raheem are two of the Asmaa e Husna of Allah Azzawajall.

Surah Fateha introduces Allah in ayat number 2 as Rahman and Raheem.
“The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful…”

These are two attributes of Allah in two different phases of time.

In this world, Allah is Ar Rahman. His Mercy knows no bound. He is Benevolent and His Blessings are for believers and non-believers alike. His Mercy is infinite and does not discriminate in this world.

But in the next life, Allah is Raheem. He is “especially” Merciful, which means that His Mercy is especially and only for the believers.

Understanding these two attributes of Allah unlocks a way for us to understand how we should live our lives.

Often we feel disheartened seeing non-believers enjoying all the pleasures of this world and we wonder why it is only us Muslims who are in a dire state. Know that this is so because Allah Azzawajall is Rahman in this world. The non-believers are misled easily because they think this is Allah’s reward on them.

But the Quran says over and over again that the inheritors of Jannah will only be the believers.
Allah, may He be exalted, says: “And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do. For you therein is much fruit from which you will eat” [az-Zukhruf 43:72-73].

May Allah make us of those who earn His Mercy in this world and His Approval in the next world. May Allah look at us with love and mercy on the day where His Mercy will be absolutely exclusive. May Allah be with us in all our journeys, and may all our journeys lead us back to Him.

اس رمضان 2020 کے پانچویں روز میں خوش آمدید۔

رحمن اور رحیم

یہ دونوں اللہ عز وجل کے اسما حسنی میں سے دو نام ہیں۔

سورہ فاتحہ کی دوسری آیت میں اللہ کے بارے میں بیان کیا گیا ہے، بہت مہربان، اور نہایت رحم والا۔
یہ اللہ تعالی کے، دو مختلف، لیکن مرحلہ وار اوصاف ہیں۔

اس دنیا میں اللہ الرحمن ہے۔ اس کا رحم و کرم بے حد و حساب ہے۔ وہ مہربان ہے اور اس کی نعمتیں ہر کسی کے لئے بلا تخصیص درجہ ایمان عام ہیں۔ اس کا رحم لامحدود اور بلا امتیاز ہے۔

لیکن اگلی زندگی میں وہ الرحیم ہے۔ اور اسکا رحم اور کرم بالخصوص ایمان والوں کے لئے ہے۔

ہمارے رب کے ان دو اوصاف کو سمجھ لینے سے ہمیں اپنی زندگیوں کو گزارنے کا ڈھنگ سمجھ لینا بہت آسان ہو جاتا ہے۔

اکثر ہم میں سے کئی لوگوں کو خیال آتا ہے کہ جن لوگوں یا قوموں کو ایمان چھو کے بھی نہیں گزرا، ان کو ہر طرح کی نعمتوں سے نواز دیا گیا۔ جبکہ ایمان والے ہر طرح کے آلام بھگت رہے۔ لیکن اس کا جواب ان دو اوصاف کو سمجھنے میں ہے۔ اللہ اس دنیا میں رحمن ہے۔ اس کی نعمتیں سب کے لیے ہیں۔ ایمان سے عاری لوگ شاید یہ سمجھتے ہوں گے کہ یہ سب ان پر اللہ کا کرم ہے۔

مگر قرآن میں بارہا یہ واضح کیا گیا ہے کہ جنت کے حقدار صرف ایمان والے ہیں۔

“یہی وہ بہشت ہے کہ تم اپنے اعمال کے بدلے اس کے وارث بنائے گئے ہو۔ یہاں تمہارے لئے بکثرت میوے ہیں جنہیں تم کھاتے رہو گے۔” سورہ زخرف آیت 72، 73

اللہ ہمیں اس زندگی میں اس کا رحم اور آنے والی زندگی میں اس کا کرم حاصل کرنے والوں میں شامل فرمائے۔ اللہ ہمیں اس رحم کا حقدار بننے کی توفیق عطا فرمائے جس دن اس کی سب سے زیادہ ضرورت ہوگی۔ اللہ ہمارے ہر سفر میں ہمارا حامی ہو، اور ہماری ہر کوشش اور ہمارا ہر سفر ہمیں اللہ تک پہنچائے۔
