Today’s topic briefly touches the vast subject of repentance.

We all are sinners.

Even though people think highly of us, all thanks to Allah Azzawajal, we know deep down how much bad we have been to those around us.

Day after day, night after night, we go deeper in regret. We become uglier to ourselves when we think of our wrongdoings, and so, most of us end up not thinking about those things.

Have you had times when you gave up on yourself?

When you thought you couldn’t possibly have been a worse version of yourself?

Or have you ever thought how could Allah ever forgive you? Because let’s face it, He knows what the rest of the world doesn’t know.

That’s when you fell for a big trap. You thought you were ugly at heart, didn’t deserve forgiveness, and so you gave up trying to repent. You dropped the idea of ever confessing it all to Allah because the shame is just too much.

My friend, you just fell for a big, big trap.

Allah says in Surah Nisaa, ayat 110:

“And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”

In the Quran, Allah (azzawajal) decrees that: “It is He who accepts the repentance of His servants, and excuses their misdeeds and knows what you do.” [Surah Ash-Shura. 26:25]

When Shytaan was banished from jannah, he vowed to take a huge population of people with him to the hellfire. He asked Allah to be given time till the day of judgement so he may lead us astray.

Shytaan’s name in the Quran has been revealed as “iblees”. “Iblees” means someone who has lost hope.

One tactic of the shytaan is to fill us with hopelessness also. He makes sure that we lose hope in the mercy and forgiveness of Allah. This leads a person to a state where he actually stops making any effort to repent. When a person stops repenting, his heart hardens and he strays away from Allah.

But the incentives of repenting and asking for forgiveness are far too many!

Repentance purifies your heart,

You feel lighter at heart,

Repenting is a way of drawing closer to Allah,

It helps us keep a check on our actions,

One can learn from his mistakes when he realizes the things he has done,

Most importantly,

You gain Allah’s forgiveness and love.

Prophet Muhammed has said: “Allah rejoices for the repentance of His servant more than the barren woman rejoices for having a child, more than the lost one who finds his way and more than the thirsty one who finds water.” [Kanzul Ummal, no. 10165]

Allah loves us more than 70 mothers can love us. One of Allah’s attributes is that He is “Ghani”. Yet, Allah welcomes us with love and care when we revert back to Him.

He waits everyday for us to go back to Him, repent, and be His all over again. If that isn’t love, I don’t know what is!

I leave you today with a thought that never let your hope in Allah’s rehmat diminish. Keep it and guard it well.

May Allah fill your hearts with hope. May Allah give you the toufeeq of turning towards Him in repentance. May Allah protect you from the whisperings of shytaan, the cursed. May Allah forgive your sins and fill us with mindfulness and emaan.

Ameen sum ameen, ya rabb ul aalimeen.

[رمضان، ۵] رمضان سیریز کے پانچویں دن خوش آمدید۔

آج ہم توبہ کے وسیع موضوع پر بات کریں گے.

ہم سب گنہگار ہیں.

اگرچہ اللہ عزّ وجل کے کرم سے لوگ ہمارے بارے میں اچھا سوچتے ہیں ، مگر ہم جانتے ہیں کہ ہم ہمارے ارد گرد ان لوگوں کے مقابلے کتنے بُرے ہیں.

ہر گزرتےدن اور رات کے ساتھ ہم اس بات پر افسوس کرتے ہیں. جب ہم اپنے غلط کاموں کے بارے میں سوچتے ہیں تو ہمیں اپنا آپ بدترین محسوس ہوتا ہے، اور اسی لیے، ہم میں سے اکثر ان چیزوں کے بارے میں سوچنا چھوڑ دیتے ہیں.

کیا آپ کی زندگی میں ایسا وقت آیا ہے جب آپ نے خود سے ہار مان لی ہو؟

جب آپ نے سوچا آپ شاید ممکنہ طور پر اپنے آپ کا بدترین ورژن ہیں؟

یا کیا کبھی سوچا ہے کہ اللہ کیسے آپ کو معاف کر سکتا ہے؟ کیونکہ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ وہ آپ کے بارے میں وہ سب جانتا ہے جو باقی دنیا نہیں جانتی.

یہی وہ لمحہ ہے جب آپ جال میں پھنس جاتے ہیں. آپ نے سوچا کہ آپ کا دل سیاہ ہے، معافی کا مستحق نہیں ، اور آپ نے توبہ کرنے کی کوشش چھوڑ دی. آپ نے سوچا اللہ کبھی آپ کی معافی کو قبول نہیں کرے گا اور یہی سب سے شرمناک بات ہے۔

افسوس کہ آپ ایک انتہائی بڑے جال میں پھنس گئے۔

اللہ تعالیٰ سورہ النسا ء کی آیت ۱۱۰ میں فرماتے ہیں:

اور جو شخص کوئی برا کام کر بیٹھے یا اپنے حق میں ظلم کرلے پھر خدا سے بخشش مانگے تو خدا کو بخشنے والا اور مہربان پائے گا ﴿۱۱۰﴾

ایک جگہ ارشادِ کریم ہے:

اور وہی تو ہے جو اپنے بندوں کی توبہ قبول کرتا اور (ان کے) قصور معاف فرماتا ہے اور جو تم کرتے ہو (سب) جانتا ہے ﴿۲۵﴾ اور جو ایمان لائے اور عمل نیک کئے ان کی (دعا) قبول فرماتا ہے اور ان کو اپنے فضل سے بڑھاتا ہے۔ اور جو کافر ہیں ان کے لئے سخت عذاب ہے ﴿۲۶﴾

جب شیطان کو جنّت میں داخل ہونے سے منع کیا گیا تھا، تو اس نے ارادہ کیا کہ لوگوں کی بڑی تعداد کو لے کر جہنّم میں جائے گا. اللہ تعالی نے اُسے قیامت کے دن تک وقت دیا ہے تاکہ وہ لوگوں کو گمراہ کرے.

قرآن میں شیطان کا نام “ابلیس” لکھا گیا ہے. جس کا مطلب ہے “جس نے امید کھو دی ہے.”

شیطان کا ایک حیلہ بھی ہمیں نا امیدی سے بھرنے کے لئے ہے. وہ اس بات کو یقینی بناتا ہے کہ ہم اللہ کی رحمت اور بخشش ناامید ہو جائیں. یہ انسان کو ایک ایسی کیفیت میں مبتلا کرتا ہے جس سے وہ توبہ کرنے کے لئے کسی بھی کوشش کو روکتا ہے. جب ایک شخص توبہ نہیں کرتا تو اس کا دل سخت ہوتا ہے اور وہ اللہ سے دور رہتا ہے.

لیکن توبہ کرنے اور معافی طلب کرنے کے فوائد بہت زیادہ ہیں!

توبہ آپ کے دل کو صاف کرتا ہے۔

آپ دل میں ہلکا محسوس کرتے ہیں۔

یہ اللہ سے قربت کا ایک راستہ ہے۔

یہ ہمارے اعمال پر نظر رکھنے میں ہماری مدد کرتا ہے۔

جب کوئی اپنی غلطی کی معافی مانگ لیتا ہے تو اپنی غلطیوں سے سبق لیتا ہے۔

سب سے اہم بات،

آپ اللہ کی بخشش اور محبت کو حاصل کرتے ہیں.

اللہ ہم سے ۷۰ ماؤں سے زیادہ محبت کرتا ہے . اللہ کی صفات میں سے ایک یہ ہے کہ وہ “غنی” ہے۔ اللہ ہمیں پیار اور شفقت کے ساتھ اپنے قریب کرتا ہے جب ہم اس کی جانب واپس لوٹتے ہیں.

وہ ہر روز انتظار کرتا ہے کہ ہم توبہ کریں اور اس کی طرف لوٹ جائیں . اگر یہ محبت نہیں ہے تو، میں نہیں جانتی کہ کیا ہے!

آج میں آپ کو ایک سوچ کے ساتھ چھوڑ رہی ہوں کہ کبھی بھی اپنے ربّ کی رحمت سے مایوس نا ہو.

اللہ آپ کے دلوں کو اُمید سے بھرے۔ آپ کو توبہ کی توفیق دے اور اپنی طرف لوٹائے۔ خدا آپ کے گناہوں کو معاف کرے اور شیطان کے شر سے دور رکھے۔

آمین ثمّ آمین ، یا رب ّالعالمین.
